The influence of Soviet art on Chinese painting of the 20th century

The article analyzes the influence of Soviet art on the development of Chinese painting in the 20th century, paying special attention to the key stages of cultural interaction between the USSR and the People's Republic of China. The author examines the historical context in which the spread of socialist realist ideas in China took place, starting from the 1950s, when cultural cooperation between the two countries became an important element of state policy. The mechanisms of transmission of artistic traditions are considered, including the training of Chinese artists in Soviet art institutes, as well as the activities of Soviet teachers working in China. Particular attention is paid to the role of Soviet teachers and Chinese artists who became conduits of socialist realist ideas.
