The article presents the results of research on the study of the influence of the method of basic tillage on the water regime of winter wheat cultivated by various predecessors in the conditions of erosion-Onno-dangerous slope of ordinary chernozems. It is established that winter wheat sown in the predecessor of winter wheat with chisel method, primary tillage, provides the highest increase of productive moisture of 87.4 mm and the assimilation of precipitation of the cold period - 49,2 mm. The use of pure steam as a precursor of winter wheat in the chisel method of basic tillage allows you to rationally use up the amount of moisture. In this variant, the formation of the highest yield of winter wheat 6.23 t / ha coefficient of water consumption was the lowest 809.9 m3 / t.
