Impact of subculture on juvenile delinquent behavior

Introduction: despite the fact that today scientists and practitioners have revealed the main causes and features of offenses in adolescence, this problem continues to exist and requires further resolution. This article discusses topical issues of the influence of youth subcultures on the behavior of adolescents. Materials and methods: the methodological basis of the study was general scientific and particular scientific methods of cognition, in particular, dialectical materialistic, comparative legal and formal logical methods of cognition. The materials of the study were the current Belarusian legislation, as well as published scientific papers on the research problem. Results: the exclusion of a subculture, the need for its features are analyzed, some types of youth subcultures are characterized. Particular attention is paid to the newly formed subculture «PMC Redan», which is included in the list of officially banned youth movements. Discussion and Sonclusions: conclusions are formulated that in most cases, youth subculture provokes illegal behavior among adolescents, devaluing the values and norms of official culture, planting their own rules and symbols in it. At the same time, the youth subculture acts as one of the means for self-affirmation, compensation for the failures of adolescents. The unlawful behavior of minors is expressed in unjustified risk, in the commission of actions of an extreme nature, the removal of moral and legal restrictions and prohibitions.
