The impact of properties of cotton-polypropylene yarn parameters on the technological process of making knitted fabric

The article covers the results of processing mixed yarn from polypropylene fibres in knitting industry. The features of refilling a double knitting machine, dressing mode and the conditions for making cotton-polypropylene fabric with the required structure for sewing knitted garments were discovered based on theoretic and experimental studies. There was reviled the necessity of increasing the dimension of the loop and the length of the string in a loop based on the given volumetric data and elastic extensibility of the yarn, as well as of reducing the tension at the entrance to the loop forming system in order to lessen the distorting effects on polypropylene fibers. The studies allowed determining the rational filling of a knitting machine, which is of practical importance because of the lack of typical filling and modes of production of cotton-polypropylene fabric in our republic.
