The effect of the calcination temperature of diatomite on the quality of synthesized amorphous microsilica was studied. It was found that the synthesis of silica from calcined diatomite, at a temperature of no higher than 500 oC for 2 hours or less, makes it possible to obtain amorphous silica of high purity, containing 99,63-99,30% SiO2 and minor impurities of iron oxide, aluminum oxide, etc.
