Influence of the polyethylene membrane thickness on the functioning of the closed type polarographic oxygen gauge

The influence of thickness of the polyethylene membrane on the basic operation characteristics (absolute measuring error, repetition error and time of the response) of the closed type polarographic oxygen gauge has been studied. It has been found, that the optimal thickness of the membrane is 50 mcm. At the thickness of the membrane less than the mentioned value its transmittivity becomes not as much as critical as its ability to resist against the osmotic pressure of the electrolyte inside the gauge.
