This article examines the impact of the transport infrastructure on the development of municipal entities of the Russian Federation by case study of the Volgograd region. The author discusses the problems, causes and consequences of the unsatisfactory state of the transport infrastructure in the Volgograd region, which affect the quality of population life in a varying degree.
