Influence of service and living conditions on combat training and moral qualities of military personnel (by a case study of the Priamurye military district in 1884-1900)

The article reviews the process of creating and forming the Priamurye Military District. The peculiarities of service and life of the district troops are identified and described. The author attempts to estimate the moral qualities of the military personnel. The high alert and the combat capability of the army along with the state military buildup are closely connected with the formation and development of the worldview spiritual bases of the servicemen that are carried out through the following types of education: political, patriotic, military, moral, aesthetic, physical, legal ones. In this regard, examining the pre-revolutionary historical experience of combat and moral training of the military personnel is of great interest. The investigation and scientific synthesis of this experience are important for historical development and practical solutions to the problems of moral and psychological training of military personnel in the modern context. The new material on the studied issue is summarized, the under-investigated documents and records are introduced.
