“Western culture” influence on the formation of the social and cultural values of Russian youth

The article is concerned with the formation of socio-cultural values of Russian youth, analyzes the main areas in which the influence of “western culture” on the consciousness and social behavior of young people in Russia is most clearly manifested: fashion, music, the Internet and information technologies, culinary and restaurant activities, mass media (cinema, television), language. It explains why these areas of activity are “americanized” in Russia and in many countries of the world. The data of linguistic sociological studies conducted in the Universities of Ivanovo are presented. The ways of overcoming the social and cultural degradation of the younger generations, both in Russia and on a global scale, are determined. It is concluded that only friendly relations between countries and their joint positive impact on public consciousness can shape new generations and the world order.
