Influence of the first lady's appearance on her image

The article presents the influence of an appearance and style of the First Lady on her image in the society as well as the image of the presidential couple on the public about country. Definite functions the image and styles of the Soviet First Ladies are analyzed based on information from historic articles and media sources. Special attention is paid to the principles of garment selection for the First Ladies such as Nina Khrushcheva, Victoria Brezhneva and Raisa Gorbacheva.
