The work examines the most popular investment strategies in practice and carries out a comparative analysis of their prospective profitability and probable risks. A comprehensive study of possible investment strategies in the Russian stock market was also conducted, based on data from the implementation of formula strategies. Modeling of investment results and recommendations are given by the way on choosing the best strategy based on the criterion of average annual profitability over a 20-year horizon, taking into account the interests and capabilities of private investors making investments in the Russian Federation.
