The influence of West-European philosophy on the formation of the ideas about life, death and immortality of Russian thinkers has been analyzed in the paper. The author has researched the distinctions in the approaches to consideration and understanding of the meaning of life, death and immortality at various stages of the development of the western philosophical idea. The reasons for the actualization and criticism of the ideas about life, death and immortality in Russian religious philosophy of the XIX century have been considered.
