The article proposes a model for optimizing production processes in water-resource systems of pulp and paper production, which is based on the automation of management decisions using Internet of Things technologies. The application of this concept allows to signifi cantly minimize the consumption of fresh water through the introduction of process automation, reduce the volume of wastewater, which in turn reduces the negative impact on the environment, while maintaining high product quality and economic effi ciency. The main novelty of the study is the integration of advanced technologies, such as machine learning and the Internet of Things, with dynamic water resources management, which allows taking into account environmental, economic and technological aspects in a single system. The proposed machine learning algorithm for detecting water leaks in the drainage system, based on data obtained from the Internet of Things, allows to optimize processes related to water use at all stages of the production life cycle. This creates a more rational and effi cient water resources management system and helps prevent potential accidents at all stages of the manufacturing process.
