The article is devoted to migration processes of modern Buryatia. We give generalizing assessment of migration situation in Buryatia; it is characterized by the dynamics of movement of rural and urban population. The author focuses on the sex and age of migrants from rural areas and determines the reasons for departure from the village to the city. In addition, in that article deals with the problems of integration of the villages and towns, due to the disappearance of the smaller rural settlements, as a result of migration flows. The article concludes, the fact that the rural population has a high level of migration, the population tends to move closer to urban areas, namely in Ulan-Ude. The determining factor in their move is an opportunity to get a job, which is easier to find in urban areas, even though the housing problem is solved much more difficult. Villagers moved to the city for permanent residence or a seasonal job. Migration processes are not natural, they require a clear migration policy at the national level, which would include securing the population in the Republic, motivate villagers to farm and not forced the villagers to move to a more favorable environment for life.
