Variability of wing pattern elements in ringlet butterfly Aphantopus hyperantus population (Lepidoptera, Satyridae)

71 variants of wing patterns in ringlet butterfly were discovered on the local area of 4 km 2. Sex differences in butterflies were revealed, but no significant seasonal or spatial differences were found. Results of the analysis and almost complete lack of marked specimens in recaptures suggest that local environment is not favorable for the species’ sedentary life. Settling and mixing butterflies form indivisible mainland population on the studied area.
