The article reveals the process of performing a complexand important task assigned by the National Committeeof Defenseon May 21,1943 to establish the second (afterVladivostok) railway outlet to the Pacific coast of theUSSR, i.e. the railway line Komsomolsk –SovetskayaGavan. The article is based on the documents of the cen-tral and regional archivesand the memoirs of the con-struction participants.
