The paper presents the study of the felt discovered in a mass sanitary grave of Yaroslavl residents who were killed when the city was laid waste by the Batu Khan army in 1238. Several types of felt fabrics were identified and their structural and technological features were revealed. The determination of animal species the wool of which was used as a source material supplemented our ideas on raw material sources and textile technologies in pre-Mongol Medieval Rus.
