The war as viewed by a boy from a front-line countryside

The paper presents a personal perception of the Great Patriotic War by a countryside boy living in the frontline area. Among the described events are: beginning of the war, all aspects of war-time life (school study, work in kolkhozes, food supply, clothes, living conditions, moral and psychological state of people), ending of the war. The author shows the main factors that helped country people to survive in that time: subsistence farming, team spirit, nature, strength and self-sacrifice of a Russian woman.
