70th anniversary of Vologda region: formation of regional authorities at early period (23 September 1937 - January 1940)

On September 23, 1937, the Central Executive Committee of the USSR approved the Resolution of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, by which the Vologda Oblast was formed by singling out a number of cities and districts of the Northern Region and joining a group of cities and districts of the Leningrad Region. The following article highlights the initial period of the formation of the administrative bodies of the new administrative and territorial formation of the country. The source of the published material is the documents stored in the State Archives of the Vologda Region.
