Volunteering and charity in Russia: modern realities

This paper analyzes the development of volunteerism and charity in Russia as a result of the implementation of two concepts: the Concept for the Development of Volunteering (Volunteering) and the Concept for Assistance to the Development of Charitable Activities. Based on publicly available statistical materials, the results of the implementation of these documents were summarized. Volunteering in the country is developing and the number of its participants is constantly increasing. The number of charitable foundations has practically not increased during the implementation of the Concept, the main financial support for the foundations is carried out not through donations from citizens, but through funding from the state. This year, 2024, the Concepts expire, but unfortunately, there are no law enforcement documents providing for the further development of volunteerism and charity.
