The question of constructing the East-Donetsk railway (the end of XIX century)

This article is devoted to the historical background of constructing the East-Donetsk railway. The importance of its construction was considered at the beginning of 1870s, but the permission to start its construction was given only at the end of 1890s. The article focuses on proposals dealing with the construction activities, the governmental consideration of the problem. The reasons of a delay with the decision-making in contexts of various economic and political factors are brought to light
