Passeriformes of the Republic of Buryatia: annotated list

The article presents an annotated list of Passeriformes of the Republic of Buryatia for 2021, detailing the distribution of each species in the republic and its different geographical areas. The work is based on the analysis of literature data and our own research carried out from 1975 to the present. 194 species of passerine birds belonging to 23 families have been registered in the republic. The largest share of species abundance accounted for by 5 families: Muscicapidae (20.6%), Sylviidae (12.4), Fringillidae (12.9), Emberizidae (11.3), Motacillidae (9.8). Their share in total accounts for 67.0% of the species composition of Passeriformes. Corvidae amount to 6.7%, the rest - from 0.5 to 3.6%. Passerine birds of Buryatia are distributed as follows: sedentary - 45 (23.5%), migratory nestling - 102 (52.6), non-breeding locally occurring species - 9 (4.6), wintering - 6 (3.1), vagrant - 32 (16.5).
