The article is devoted to the lexical units of “A Dictionary of Perm Krai demon vocabulary. Part 1. People with supernatural abilities” denoting people who are considered by village people as having magic abilities. These words denote people, perceived by other people as “aliens”, on the basis of a property: they have distinct appearance (limbless, humpbacked, blind, black-eyed, red-headed), a different nationality (native of Perm, Tartar, German), religion (Old Believer) or profession (a shepherd, farrier, smith, miller, doctor). It is deduced that affiliation to the group “alien” for village people is the reason of a man reference to potentially dangerous and attributing him/her supernatural abilities.
