Reproduction ability of hybrid females in various variants of crossing bison and domestic cow

Reproduction ability of hybrid females, which were received in reciprocal crossing of bison with domestic cow, as well as their progeny, received in following crossing with males of initial species, has been studied. Normal display of ovogenesis and fertilization of females of all variants of crossing have been determined. It is established more successful development of hybrid embryos and birth of progeny, when the paternal form domestic cow males are exploring - domestic cow ♂ x bison ♀; domestic cow ♂ x (bison ♂ x domestic cow♀)♀; domestic cow ♂ x (domestic cow ♂ x bison ♀)♀. In the reverse variants of crossing - bison ♂ x domestic cow ♀; bison ♂ x (bison ♂ x domestic cow ♀)♀; bison ♂ x (domestic cow ♂ x bison ♀)♀ there are frequent cases of hybrid embryos mortality of immunological nature as a result of "relative" sterility of hybrid females.
