Reproduction ability of hybrids between the banteng (Bos (Bibos) javanicus d'Alton) and domestic cow (Bos (Bos) primigenius Taurus) during breeding of hybrids in «se»

Reproduction ability of subintergeneric hybrids between the banteng and domestic cow is investigated. Fertility of hybrid females and absolute sterility of hybrid males of the F1 received in the variant banteng ♂ x domestic cow ♀ is confirmed. Spermatogenesis of some hybrid males of inverse variation (domestic cow ♀ × banteng ♂) is completed by formation of some quantity of normal spermiens, that does not exclude the possibility of appearance of fertile males already in the F1. As a result of absorbed crossing of hybrid females with the males of initial species, the fertility of hybrid males of further progenies gradually restores. The degree of fertility (or infertility) of hybrid males, received by absorbed crossing as well as by breeding of hybrids in «se» is determined by correlation of blood content of the initial species.
