The article is concerned with the role of the uprising in Herzegovina in 1875 as an underlying condition of development of the political crisis in the Principality of Serbia during July - August of 1875. Considering the Herzegovina revolt as a catalyst of the Eastern crisis the author discusses reasons of the political changes in Serbia.
