Rare species of lichens for the city of Moscow, such as Cetraria islandica, Cladonia arbuscula, Cl. Stellaris, Cl, cariosa, Cl. turgida, Diploshistes muskorum, has been relatively recently destroyed at Shchukinskiy peninsula. Experiments of the introduction of some epigeic lichens have been carried out to restore their variety in the mentioned place. To replant Cetraria islandica and Cladonia furcata the initial genetic material that was previously saved in cryobank was taken. Lichens gathered in area with moderate antropogenic influence have been used for the recovery of other lichen species. The local population of Cetraria islandica was recovered, whereas the area of Cladonia furcata at Shchukinskiy peninsula was extended by the reintroduction of this lichen in several new areas.
