The article deals with the aspiration of St. Petersburg during the Seven Years' War to assert its right on the territory of East Prussia which was occupied with Russian troops. The examination of archival documents led the author to the important conclusion that the Russian government considered these plans as achievable on postwar peace talks (the decision to start peace talks was adopted in 1761), and did not abandon its plans until the death of the Empress Elizabeth on December, 25th, 1761.
