The East Asian species Spiraea L. and Cotoneaster Medik. in the European North-East (Komi Republic)

The results of introduction the five East Asian species of the genus Spiraea L. and the eight species of the genus Cotoneaster Medik. under cultivation in the European North-East are presented. Most of the studied species have average winter hardiness and high ability to shoot formation. Flowering and fruiting of taxa is regular. Cultivars of Spiraea japonica L. have high decorative qualities. Plants of Cotoneaster melanocarpus, C. dammeri, C. horizontalis, C. ascendens undergo a full development cycle, save a life form, inherent in natural habitat, have a high winter hardiness, it is highly decorative and can be used in greening landings in the central and southern areas of the Komi Republic. Plants of Cotoneaster amoenus, C. roseus, C. bullatus, C. allochrous seventh year of life have not yet moved into the generative period and annually freeze slightly, however, grow in the next growing season.
