Impact of indirect taxes on the economy

The article defines the role of taxes in regulating processes at the macroeconomic level. The mechanism of influence of direct and indirect taxes on the economy is considered. The relationship between indirect taxes and the main macroeconomic indicators of the Russian Federation is analyzed based on official statistics. The article focuses on the tax burden and the correlation between macroeconomic indicators and indirect taxes. The problems hindering the assessment of the results of the mechanism of influence of indirect taxes on the economy are indicated.
