Influence of wildfires on soils by the example of postpyrogenic territories of the Samara region

Researches’ results of soil changes after wildfire of 2010 in Togljatti pine forests were studied. The morphological analysis of pyrogenic soils showed that wildfire influenced only on the upper part of a soil profile. It is revealed that local fires result in more intensive loss of organic matter in comparison with riding fires. However, riding fires are more pernicious for soils because, firstly, they are continuation of local fires and, secondly, as a result of a full exposure of a soil surface the plane and linear water erosion of soils develops.
