The impact of inefficient institutional management of natural resources on the emergence of geopolitical natural resource conflicts

The article examines the institutional aspect of natural resource management and its impact on the geopolitical situation between countries. It is noted that most geopolitical disputes between countries arise because of transboundary natural resources. The main causes of ineffective natural resource management, their impact on the development of geopolitical natural resource conflicts and the role of institutions in it are described. Ineffective natural resource management leads not only to the deterioration of the geopolitical situation in the regions, but also to a decrease in environmental quality, ethnic conflicts, economic instability in the region, and poverty.
