Currently, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is diagnosed at early stages in many patients, which ensures successful conservative therapy. If the patient has relative indications for surgery, the decision is made according to patient's subjective choice. Correlation and regression analysis reveals a number of the most significant independent risk factors affecting the outcomes of conservative treatment of acute urinary retention in BPH patients. These factors can be used as a basis for a mathematical model for predicting the outcomes of conservative therapy for acute urinary retention in BPH. We have developed a special software to assess the disease prognosis. This software helps to choose an optimal treatment strategy for each particular patient.
