From 1996 to 2006, 24 patients with uterine body leiomyosarcoma and 36 patients with uterine myoma were treated at the Russian Cancer Research Center (Moscow). Clinical symptoms and ultrasonographic signs allow a statistically significant differentiation of leiomyosarcoma and myoma of the uterus. Reduction in tumor density and lack of distal acoustic shadow were found in 97,2 % of the patients.
