Visual communication possibilities of Bakhmutino culture hillfort in Ufa-Belaya interfluves

The article is devoted to the analysis of visual possibilities control early medieval settlements of the Bakhmutino culture. Topography and landscape specifics fortified settlements specifics allow researchers to assume the presence of means antiquity communication, by supplying light and smoke signals. In the studied region, this aspect has not yet become the topic of a separate study. This work is an example of integrated approach to achieve this goal. Theoretical models of ancient communication, during the study, were modeled in GIS software, after which the data were verified during the experiment. The results obtained, based on archaeological data, suggest the presence of visual communication methods for the early medieval population of the Bakhmutin archaeological culture in the Ufa-Belsk interfluve.
