Opportunities for increasing energy efficiency in the fuel and energy complex

The fuel and energy complex, characterized by high energy intensity, is facing strong pressure from carbon neutral policies. The purpose of this study is to consider energy efficiency as an integral part of the development of the fuel and energy complex. As the main approach to the study of this problem, a systematic and comparative analysis was chosen, various approaches to improving energy efficiency in the international practice of the fuel and energy complex were considered. The materials of the article are ofpractical value for the realization of long-term climate ambitions. The results of the article consist in summarizing international trends and identifying common approaches and practices in the field of increasing energy efficiency and efficient use of resources.
