This study examines the possibilities of practical application of the “Predator” kit for detecting hidden traces of blood, which is part of the scientific and technical support of the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, in order to detect traces of blood exposed to aggressive temperatures. Based on our own empirical research, recommendations are given on the use of the reagent during the inspection of the scene in order to detect the desired traces and their preliminary investigation, and the features of fixing the results of its use are highlighted. Based on the results of the experiments, it is concluded that blood, as a trace substance, does not degrade under the influence of aggressive temperatures, and remains suitable for initiating a visual positive reaction when using the “Predator” blood detection kit.
