Possibilities of the electric energy market in Northern regions

The consequences of structural transformations in the electric power industry and possibilities of the electric energy market in Northern regions are systematized in the paper. It is shown that technological or relative isolation of most territorial energy systems from UES is an obstacle to the competitive market. A planned development of the electric trunk is insufficient. These facts hamper the reform and cause additional difficulties in protecting the consumers' interests after the industry liberalization.
