The article examines the age of heroes in the anti-nihilistic novels “Nowhere” and “On the Knives”. The maturity of Leskov’s heroes is characterized by active labor activity, self-realization, goal setting and achievement, perseverance, making a family. However, the nihilist heroes lack these traits.
