The age changes of muscular, connective and fatty tissue mass in normal humans

The changes of muscular, connective and fatty tisssue mass were studied both for the whole body and for its separate parts (upper and lower limbs, trunk - bilaterally) in 2870 practically normal women and men at the age of 21-80 years using bone densitometer of «General Electric Medical Systems/Lunar» firm, DPX series, NT model with enCoreTM2002 program. At the age of working ability all the measurements increased, and at the age above 60 they started decreasing. Fatty tissue took the place of the muscular mass diminished.
