Age changes of individual psychology in patients with fractures and rehabilitation effectiveness under hyperbaric oxygenation

High level of anxiety, some signs of disadaptation, manifestations of frustration and depression, some marked emotions such as sorrow, distress and bewilderment were noted in patients, particularly in elderly ones, before HBO started to be used (3rd-5th days after trauma). Oxygen barotherapy had a positive effect on the psychological condition of the patients traumatized: anxiety and depression level decreased even at the age of 60-70 years, number and vividness of emotions increased, activity and capacity for work became higher. Pain intensity decreased. HBO favourable effect can be intensified with the help of a psychologist: to decrease the level of anxiety and depression symptoms to a greater extent by creation of individual verbal patterns of psychic activity and teaching patients the ability to transfer the anxiety to the field of interindividual relations and communicative contacts while changing patient's attention to other problems, and that contributed to further consolidation of the effect achieved, to do levelling of negative emotions and their consequences.
