The revival and development of the institutions of Islamic culture, science, and education in the “new” Russia. Islamic university of the central spiritual Muslim board of Russia

The study analyzes the factors and trends in the revival and development of spiritual Muslim education systems in Russia in the post-Soviet period. The research is based on published sources, special literature, and personal experience gained by the author as a Vice-Rector of the Russian Islamic University of the Central Spiritual Muslim Board of Russia. The development stages of the systems of spiritual Muslim education are determined, and their characteristics are given. The author focuses on the history of the revival and establishment of the Islamic scientific and theological school in Ufa and its educational basis, i.e. the university under review, having the distinctive features in the current system of Muslim religious education. The study notes the main contradictions in the improvement of Russian spiritual education systems in relation to different denominations. The possible trends in further development of Islamic sciences, culture, and education systems are generalized.
