In the article, the creative work of Yakutian artists is considered, of which the specific tendency has become the maintenance of the ethnic traditions of the national cultures. It makes itself evident in their treatment of folkloric and mythological materials. The artists transforming the archaic world model turn to ancient myths, the heritage of the folk art, and the primitive art mentality, which entails the dialogue of the traditional and modern aspects resulting in their complicated and productive interconnections.
