The article raises the problem of reviving some traditions of attracting senior school-age youth to mountain hikes for many days. Until the end of the 80s of the XX century for the graduates of the 8th (later 9th) grades, the socalled “Star Treks” were organized under the guidance of physical education teachers, during which groups of students from different schools walked 4-5 day routes in the Crimean mountains. The routes usually ended with interschool tourism technique competitions held at the final collection point. In the 90s these traditions were lost along with the loss of the rich traditions of all-Union mountain hikes, which ended with the presentation of the USSR Tourist badges to the participants. The idea of attracting modern schoolchildren to participate in mountain hikes, for whom Crimea has unique natural opportunities, is not only a concern for the physical development of the younger generation, but also, importantly, the desire to acquaint with the rich history of the Crimean peninsula. In Soviet times, the opportunity for schoolchildren to acquire historical knowledge was limited by ideological barriers. However, the Crimeaт mountain routes were created in the 19th century. But the names of persons who initiated and created the mountain paths and roads were simply not mentioned. And among them were many famous statesmen of Russia. To achieve this goal, the author proposes the idea of reconstructing one of the mountain routes, which is directly related to the memory of the knyaz's Yusupovs. One of the representatives of whom, knyaz Nikolai B. Yusupov, was during his lifetime not only the richest nobleman of the Russian Empire, but was also known as a prominent diplomat, famous collector, director of the Hermitage. The author's project of the tourist route proposed in the article is an attempt to revive not only the rich traditions of mountain youth tourism in the Republic of Crimea, but also to explore the territory of mountainous Crimea, rich in famous museums and insufficiently studied historical, cultural and natural monuments. The author proposes one of many possible multi-day bus and walking route for high school students, which originates from the world-famous palace of the Crimean khans in Bakhchisarai. During a hike across a relatively small area of the mountainous Crimea, young people will be able to get acquainted with the various historical, cultural and natural resources of the republic: historical events, features of the palace and manor culture of different peoples from the Middle Ages to the present day, natural monuments and architecture.
