This study examines the prevalence, classification, and determinants of medical errors in neurology, focusing on diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, and administrative errors as key obstacles to achieving optimal patient outcomes. A retrospective analysis of 500 cases revealed that diagnostic errors were the most common, particularly in complex neurologic cases where overlapping symptoms interfere with accurate diagnosis. Therapeutic errors, particularly in pharmacologic interventions, are associated with deviations from protocol and emphasize the need for focused physician education. In addition, the study showed that limited access to modern diagnostic tools, especially in rural health facilities, exacerbates diagnostic and therapeutic inaccuracies, indirectly affecting operational and administrative practices. Comparative analysis with previous studies demonstrates both general patterns and unique context-dependent factors, indicating that regional resource disparities and physician skill level significantly influence error rates. These results argue in favor of a multidimensional approach to reducing error rates that includes improving diagnostic resources, adherence to therapeutic standards, and ongoing professional development. This study contributes to an in-depth understanding of medical errors in neurology, suggesting systemic interventions as a basis for improving clinical accuracy, patient safety, and healthcare reliability.
