Time in the sentence: the composition of senses

The paper deals with the problem of expressing the temporal sense of the English sentence. At the level of the sentence the representation of Time is verbalized through different language forms. The paper traces various forms and structures representing the idea of Time at different levels of knowledge representation - mental, semantic and verbal ones - and shows the ways of the interaction of the temporally relevant proposition constituents to express the final temporal sense of the sentence.
