National science-practical conference «Geology and oil-gas distribution in Uralo-Povolzhie north regions» in the Perm State University

The information on the conference of 5-9 September 2010 is represented. The prominent role of Professor P.A. Sofronitskiy, the former Chair of Regional Geology Department (now Regional and Oil-and-Gas Department) of Perm University in 1952-1981, in investigation of geological structure, lithology, stratigraphy and oil-and-gas-bearing units of northern areas of the Urals and the Volga River basin is marked. The tie of oil geology with fundamehtal problems of oil geochemistry, stratigraphy, lithology and tectonics is declared.
