“dig up a garden”, “restore documents”, and “preach the gospel to people”: social service practices of religious organizations in primorskiy krai

The article investigates the social service activities of Christian religious organizations in the context of the regional community. The authors analyze the efforts of religious communities to provide assistance and support to those in need. The study is based on statements from experts - representatives of religious and public organizations (n=8) - describing the main principles and practices of social service. The article also includes data on the number and composition of Christian religious organizations in Primorskiy Krai, based on official data from the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. The research is grounded in the analysis of empirical data and theoretical concepts of social service by Christian denominations, allowing conclusions to be drawn about the importance of such prosocial activities by religious organizations in Primorskiy Krai.
