The second life of single-industry town: the use of crisis factors for development

The article discusses current problems in the functioning and prospects of development of single-industry towns in the Russian Federation, describes the causes and consequences of bankruptcy of city-forming enterprises, the impact of the crisis of single-industry municipalities (towns) to the level of life of population and housing and communal services of cities. The article shows positive examples of the former single-industry town authorities activities in partnership with higher education institutions on the example of the town Roshal, Moscow region.
