Secondary employment of university students at labour market: tendencies and peculiarities (according to the results of the students of Moscow arts and humanities universities)

The relevance of studying the issue of secondary employment is determined by the global presence of this type of work and its significant contribution to the country's economy. Under secondary employment the author understands the additional employment of students besides their studies. The early involvement of the younger generation in the labor sphere alongside studies has both positive and negative sides, which are considered in the present study. There are provided the data of the author's study conducted by interviewing students of Moscow arts and humanities universities. The study analyzes communication channels using which students find jobs, there is given the rating of the most in-demand jobs and spheres of activity. It was found out that most students work in the field of service industry and sales industry, although they have absolutely different labour priorities with regard to their employment after graduation. The most attractive activity for students is an office work in large companies and freelance jobs, however it is hard for young people to get them. Therefore, most students are hired where they are are offered reasonable salary and a convenient working hours that allows to combine work and studies.
